Mayan Blue Stool Nr.03
2018
The Mayan Blue was extensively used in the Mesoamerica starting from the first Millennium AD in the Mayan area. Apart of using the pigment in scriptures, murals and ceramics; its main purpose was to be part of a ritual. This color was dedicated to Chaak, the rain god.
The little stools are made from volcanic stone and polished off with natural resin containing the pigment. Resulting in a satin finish which is soft to the touch.
MB stools where produced in an open edition. All tables where hand carved and polished with natural resin + Maya Blue Pigment. Each piece has its own shade of blue .
This season is now closed. Only 12 pieces with individual colors were produced.
